Last Night saw the Launch of Foursight’s premier release, ‘VS’, so now I can unveil my entry in all of its sweaty glory!
The launch night was a roaring success with artwork on show from many wonderful illustrators. Guy McKinley, Stanley Chow, Ben Jones, Ian Murray, Alan Dalby as well as the foursight Gang, to name but a few. The Turnout was incredible and a testament to the amount of hard work Foursight put into the production of such a beautiful product. I’m very proud of those guys and proud to be a part of it’s overall success.
Issue one will be entitled “Vs” and will focus on disturbing the idyllic lives of some of our favourite pencil pushers as well as our own. Each competitor will be put against a secret opponent to illustrate one half of a pair of binary opposites. It will then be up to you to choose which illustration you like the best, as the pairs will be printed back to back. This means you will get twenty rad pieces of artwork that will melt your face off! - Foursight
The theme I was given to illustrate was ‘Hot’ and to be quite honest, I struggled with such a vague, singular-worded brief. I spent a long time deliberating over the various meanings of the word, idioms where the word is used, as well as general phrases and sayings! I knew from the start that I wanted to incorporate more than one meaning of ‘Hot’ into my image.
Here I used the standard definition, alongside a the slang/colloquial definition for ‘sexually attractive’ - personally, I think it works quite well.
